Skiing in Eastern Switzerland

Skiing in Eastern Switzerland is still a largely undiscovered gem. The Flumserberg and Pizol ski resorts near Zurich offer guests two mountain areas that are very easy to reach, have extensive ski slopes and plenty of space and offer a panoramic view that can only be found in Heidiland: Churfirsten, Spitzmeilen, Lake Walen, the Grisons Rhine Valley, the Glarus Alps and even Lake Constance. It's not unusual to take a break on the slopes to admire the magnificent panorama. The small ski lifts in Mastrils and St. Margrethenberg are also worth a visit.

On the high plateau of St. Margrethenberg in the Tamina Valley, a small ski lift is operated in winter when there is enough snow. There are approx. 4 km of pistes available. At the top of the lift on the Golerberg there is a small restaurant with a panoramic terrace.

Mastrils ski lift

The ski area is located on the upper edge of the village of Mastrils above Landquart and leads up to just under 1000 meters above sea level. The blue and red category pistes are groomed and lead through forests and across meadows. It is one of the longest platter lifts in the canton of Graubünden.
