Old cinema Mels

The Altes Kino Mels cultural association has been one of the leading providers of cultural events in Sarganserland for 30 years. In addition, the venue is a meeting place with a strong presence in the region - and one of the preferred stages for artists from the cabaret scene in Switzerland and abroad. "Leisure time - culture time": this is the motto of the Altes Kino Mels, which applies to various areas. Visitors interested in culture are offered around 50 events per season (from September to May) in the fields of theater (spoken word, musical and narrative theater as well as cabaret, comedy and clown programs), music (including rock, world music) and children's theater. An in-house production for children aged 5 and over is a Christmas tradition. "Freizeit - Kulturzeit" also signals that the Altes Kino is a volunteer-run cultural center.
