Lake Chapfensee is also popular with fishermen, as it has a good stock of rainbow trout. The lake is easily accessible by car, bike or on foot. A path leads around the lake. There are also several fireplaces with wood supplies. Lake Chapfensee is actually a reservoir, but is hardly recognizable as such. It is beautifully nestled in a protected nature reserve. On a hike around the lake, you will discover a pristine moorland landscape as well as the rewarding viewpoint at Chapfenstein with a view of the Seeztal valley.
