Quinten

Quinten lies on a promontory on Lake Walen, surrounded by the Churfirsten mountains. The car-free village can only be reached on foot or by boat and offers a mild climate in which even figs and kiwis thrive.
Quinten and Au lie on a small promontory on Lake Walen, 434 meters above sea level. A piece of land bordered on one side by the lake and on the other by the steep rock faces of the Churfirsten. Quinten can only be reached on foot from Weesen or Walenstadt or by boat. It owes its mild climate to its special location. Thanks to the mild climate, not only grapes grow here, but also figs, kiwis and other tropical fruits. The village has remained car-free to this day. The connection from Murg to Mediterranean Quinten is available all year round and is also worth a trip in winter!
