Alp Sardona in the Calfeisen Valley offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and the main Glarus thrust. Farmers from Zizers have been grazing their cattle here for over 500 years. A cozy dormitory in the former hay barn invites you to linger.

From St. Martin, the trail leads along a natural road through the wild and romantic Calfeisen Valley to Alp Sardona. At the very back of the Calfeisen valley, the valley opens up and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and the Glarus Thrust in the middle of the Sardona Tectonic Arena. For more than 500 years, Zizers farmers from the Grisons Rhine Valley have been summering their cattle on the Alp Sardona. Warm hospitality and a cozy dormitory in the former hay barn await you here.
