Schesaplana 2965m / 2 days

1st day The small cable car takes us from Malans to the pretty mountain restaurant Älpli (1787m). After a short refreshment stop high above the Bündner Herrschaft, we set off on our hike. We reach the pretty Vorderscht See (1891m) via the Jenins and Mainenfeld Alps. Now our path becomes increasingly steeper and we reach the Bartümeljoch (2314m). After a short detour into Austria, we return home via the Gross Furgga (2358m). It's not far now. We reach the friendly Schesaplana hut on the Prättigauer Höhenweg with its great views. Hiking time: 6.5 h Ascent: 1100 m Descent: 1000 m Distance: 16 km 2nd day Early in the morning and freshly fortified from a hearty breakfast, we start the day. The Schweizerweg runs surprisingly elegantly up the south face. The scrambling demands our concentration and is fun. Finally we reach the imposing scree field that stretches up to the summit of the Schesaplana (2965m). Overwhelmed by the impressive view, the alpine descent once again challenges our climbing skills. A wire rope helps us down through the steep gully. Back in Austrian territory, we are tempted by the Kaiserschmarrn. We gladly accept the detour to Totalp for this. Finally, we return to the Schesaplana hut via the Gamslugga (2374m). From here we take the scooter down into the valley. If you want, you can enjoy a 1300-metre descent to the train station in Seewis-Pardisla. Hiking time: 8 h Ascent: 1300 m Descent: 1300 m Distance: 12 km Requirements: Sufficient fitness, surefootedness and a head for heights are required, even on unpaved and slightly exposed terrain. Tea is available from the hut. Overnight stay: We spend the night in a shared room in the Schesaplana hut. The use of a silk sleeping bag is obligatory Costs: CHF 310.- / CHF 319.- (without SAC membership) Included: One overnight stay with half board and two professionally guided hikes by hiking guide FA.
