Accompany an experienced guide on an exciting bat excursion in Giessenpark. Using the latest technology, we make the mysterious world of these flying mammals audible and discover their fascinating hunting techniques. As we stroll through the park landscape in the evening, you will learn why bats are the only mammals that can actively fly - and with impressive precision. We make their ultrasonic calls audible to us and learn how the species can be distinguished by their calls. With a bit of luck, we will discover rare species such as the alpine bat or observe the water bat hunting mosquitoes. You will also learn exciting facts about the secret lives of these fascinating animals - from their unique flight maneuvers to their still mysterious hibernation sites.
