Flumserberg mountain railroads
Daily until October 19, 2025 & subsequent restricted operation

The Flumserberg is a good address for anyone suffering from fog. From Tannenboden, shorter and longer walks in the surrounding area are tempting. The best way to get up the mountain in the off-season is by post bus or car. Certain restaurants on the Tannenbodenalp are also open in the off-season (please check in advance).

Cable cars & chairlifts in Bad Ragaz and Wangs
Daily between October 20 - 26, 2025:
Bad Ragaz gondola lift
The Bad Ragaz gondola lift will be in operation on the weekends of 1-2 November 2025 and 8-9 and 15-16 November 2025, provided the hiking trails are not already covered in snow. The cable car facilities on the Wangs side are closed. On Pardiel (mountain station of the Bad Ragaz gondola lift), numerous offers await sun-seeking excursionists, such as the Prodkopf viewpoint, the Heidi trail or the Edelweiss trail with reservoir.

Palfries mountain railroads
Daily until November 15, 2025
The Palfriesbahn takes visitors from the valley station at Ragnatsch between Mels and Flums to the Palfries plateau. Hiking and walking trails lead across the plateau with views of the mighty Churfirsten peaks and Lake Walen.

Älplibahn Malans
Daily until November 16, 2025
The iconic yellow gondolas of the Älplibahn in Malans will take you up high until November 16. The restaurant is also open daily until November 16. The mountain station is located at 1,800 meters and there are countless hiking options from there. One of them leads to the Vilan panoramic mountain.


Vättnerberg cable car
Weekend operation from September 29 to November 2, 2025
The Vättner Berg cable car in the Tamina Valley operates at weekends and on public holidays between September 29 and November 2. On weekdays it runs on demand. Various destinations can be hiked to from the mountain station. Alp Findels can be reached in 30 minutes and for those who want something a little more challenging, we recommend the hike to Monte Luna. The view of the imposing Ringelspitz at 3,247 meters - the highest mountain in the canton of St. Gallen - is definitely a highlight!

Schönhalden cable car
Daily until November 9, 2025
The Schönhalden cable car is open daily until November 9. The restaurant and hotel are also open daily and are the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. It is an insider tip - the views of the imposing Churfirsten peaks on the opposite side of the valley are definitely worth seeing.
