Winter on Lake Walen

In summer, Lake Walen offers a wide range of water sports as well as hiking and biking tours with lake views. But Lake Walen is also worth a visit in winter and enchants visitors with its fjord-like charm. Despite its depth of up to 150 meters, Lake Walen never freezes over thanks to the Mediterranean microclimate.

Walensee ship

The cross-country trail, which connects the villages of Unterterzen, Au, Quinten and Murg, is active all year round. This means that a visit to the car-free wine village of Quinten is also possible in winter.

From the lake to the slopes

The SeeJet from Unterterzen takes you to the Flumserberg ski area in just a few minutes. There you can enjoy the view of Lake Walen as well as 65 kilometers of pistes, winter hiking trails, cross-country ski trails and more.

Quinten

Kiwis and figs grow here in summer thanks to the mild climate. The car-free wine village can only be reached by boat or on foot.
